Seit mehr als 70 Jahren bedienen Obusse die lativanische (lettische) Hauptstadt Riga mit einer herausragenden Leistung. Das Netz von 19 Linien mit einer Länge von ca. 80 km Obus-Fahrleitungen und ca. 300 Oberleitungsbussen, die von zwei Depots bedient werden, gehört zu einem der größten in der Europäischen Union.

Die Flotte besteht aus zwei allgemeinen Typen, 150 SKODA 24Tr, Zweiachswagen und ungefähr der gleichen Anzahl von Solaris / SKODA-Gelenkwagen auf Lager. Flotte und Infrastruktur sind gut gepflegt und ermöglichen einen schnellen Service auf einer guten Straßenoberfläche.

Since more than 70 years trolleybuses serve the Lativan capital Riga well with an outstanding performance. The network of 19 lines with a lengh of about 80 km double wire lines and about 300 trolleybuses serviced by two depots belongs to one of the biggest in European Union. The fleet consists of two general typs – 150 SKODA 24Tr – two axle trolleybuses and about the same number of Solaris/SKODA articulated trolleybuses in stock. Fleet and infrastructure are well kept and allow fast service on good street surface. There are some rumors that some politicians want to close the system, but there ist the hope that the system will develope further on for the future of the capital.
